One Night Only at the One&Only Desaru Coast!!
For those looking for a quick getaway, why not head down to Ember Beach Club at One&Only Desaru Coast next weekend? Located in the coastal resort town of Desaru in Kota Tinggi District, Johor, Malaysia, guests can enjoy the inaugural edition of the EMBER CURATES series, an all new series that features a collaborative dinner showcase from Michelin-starred chefs.
For it’s first edition, the club is welcoming Chef Andrew Walsh and Julien Royer to create a one night event of decadent modern European gastronomy, framed by breathtaking sunsets and the sound of cascading waves from the South China Sea, Ember Beach Club, a vibrant, beach-side destination with cuisine crafted by Andrew Walsh, will play host to a show-stopping line-up of modern European specialties.
Both chefs happen to be familiar names to the refined gourmands in Singapore: Chef Walsh’s ‘nua Irish’ cuisine from Cure Restaurant and Chef Royer’s refined French cuisine à la Odette Singapore showcase the finest produce and cooking styles from France and Ireland, as well as pays homage to the Chefs’ culinary signatures of aromatic complexity and powerful flavour combinations, with a menu inspired by their homelands, travels and experiences. Beside items like Hand Dived Scallop ‘Au Naturel’ and Yuzu T’art, Chef Royer will present his signature Claudine Bouillabaisse, a perennial favourite served at his newest French neo-brasserie concept, Claudine, in Singapore. The dish reflects Chef Royer’s distinct take on the hearty classic Provencal fish stew, where the juicy heads of the carabinero are left intact in his rendition. This encapsulates the sensational tomalley-like and distinct flavours evocative of the tastes that he has grown to appreciate over the many years he spent in Asia. Chef Walsh’s menu has fresh seafood and tender meats from Ireland, key ingredients in his kitchen that reflect his proud heritage. Freshly harvested Gallagher oysters from Kerzner business use Ireland, known for their meaty sweet flavours, will make an appearance, in addition to a classic Irish recipe of potato colcannon. Another sumptuous menu highlight, and a personal recommendation of Chef Walsh, is the Wagyu Beef Rossini, his rendition of the decadent world-renowned steak dish.
For overnight guests of One&Only Desaru Coast, an ultra-stylish brunch by the pool will be taking place at Ember Beach Club to continue the festivities on Sunday, 25 September 2022 from 11am to 4pm. Guests will savour a mouth-watering array of crowd-pleasing favourites including signature stuffed baos, hearty tacos, woodfired flatbreads and more, to the panorama of sparkling ocean views and ambient sounds from the DJ.
