A Holi- Holi-Day At Carousel, Royal Plaza on Scotts  With the arrival of September, it’s a symbol that year-end celebration planning is in the air. With that in mind, perhaps it’s time for you to look at what Carousel from Royal Plaza on Scotts has to offer for you!

And it helps that this year the dessert team, led by Executive Pastry Chef, Choo Eng Tat, took the time to enhance their past recipes for a fluffier Panettone and juicer Festive Fruit Cake, one which will suit the locals more. The origin of Panettone comes from the European countries where it is served during the winter season with wine, coffee, or tea, so the texture tends to be drier. By buttering up the recipe, the version that Chef Choo is putting out has a buttery, fluffier and more moist panettone, with bonus chocolate chips into the mix as added by Chef Choo.

His version of fruit cake has candied dried fruits and peels that are marinated with orange juice prior to the baking to add an extra citrusy scent. Enjoy a bite that shows moist texture upon each bite. His special creation of Berry Chocolate Cheese Log, is a combination classic smokey burnt cheesecake and Valrhona chocolate crème with a hint of berries.



If you however are looking for a savoury bite, Carousel’s Asian Kitchen pays homage to Singapore’s food culture with the Satay Turkey. The first of its kind, the turkey is deeply-marinated with ginger, lemongrass and Malay spices for twelve hours. Additional ginger juice is added as a natural tenderiser, to achieve a succulent roast. Just before the turkey is fully cooked, the chef will add on a layer of homemade satay gravy and blast the heat to achieve a char-grilled aroma.
 
Guests can try the Satay Turkey on Carousel’s buffet counters during Carousel’s Christmas dinner. Other highlights on the festive menu include Turkey Breast Saltimbocca with Sage and Cranberry, Mixed Seafood Thermidor in Cheese Gratin and Baked Whole Seabass Papillote. Festive goodies such as German Dresden Stollen, Logcakes, Festive Cookies and Hot Christmas Pudding will also fill the air with the festive spirit.
