Matthieu Perrin Elected as President of Primum Familiae Vini
Matthieu Perrin of Famille Perrin in the Rhone Valley is the new President of PRIMUM FAMILIAE VINI, serving for one year until June 2021.
Matthieu Perrin, who takes over from his cousin Marc Perrin as President, comments that he is proud and pleased to take on the Presidency of the PFV. “I believe that Family companies should personify the best values of social responsibility and the more human face of free enterprise at a time when excess globalisation and depressing uniformity have become increasingly prevalent. This is why PFV is so important, and it is my duty and pleasure to thank my predecessor Marc for the energy that he dedicated to our association.”
While traditionally the Presidency passes from one of the twelve historic European wine families that form the Primum Familiae Vini association to another at the annual PFV conference in July, the global pandemic forced the postponement of the gathering of the twelve in Châteauneuf-du-Pape at Château de Beaucastel until June 2021.
Mr Perrin will be taking his presidency by reinforcing PFV’s passionate belief in the value of family wine companies. As such, 2020 will be the first year the PFV will be launching the first €100,000,00 ‘PFV- Family is Sustainability’ Prize* , a major milestone in the 28 years of the association.
“The winner will be announced in March next year and will be go to a family-owned company that demonstrates excellence, sustainability, innovation and the transmission of experience and know- how through the generations,” says Mr Perrin. “These are the values that we in the PFV hold.”
