The World Gourmet Awards Overseas Development Programme Seeks to Share More About the 2019 Experiences Plus More !
The World Gourmet Awards, in conjunction with the Singapore Tourism Board, is proud to recognize local talents in the food & beverage industry.
The WGA Overseas Development Programme (ODP) awarded 11 promising homegrown chefs, sommeliers and F&B managers with overseas attachments to famed establishments such as Restaurant Tim Raue in Berlin and Pierre Herme in Paris and City of Dreams Jade Dragon in Macau. The event will take the opportunity to showcase the experiences of some of these chefs and how the ODP helped to create more opportunities for these promising talents. The event will be hosted by the team that brought you the World Gourmet Summit, and held at partner restaurant Tamarind Hill.
The event will also take the opportunity to showcase what the World Gourmet Summit Team will be up to for 2020, including how the team continues its quest to commit to sustainability in the Food and Beverage Industry. This includes working together with U.S.A Rice and Food Bank Singapore to create an event meant to enjoy rice dishes from Indian, Italian, Modern European and Thai cuisines at the event.
As part of the Food Bank Singapore’s Feed the City initiative, WGS will be dishing out 250 portions of diverse rice dishes to 250 beneficiaries using U.S.A. rice.
Participating chefs include those from partner restaurants like Gattopardo, Punjab Grill, Yotel and Tamarind Hill Restaurant will prepare five unique rice dishes for the event.
There will also be a panel discussion on sustainability, which will also be held to spark environmentally conscious decisions in the industry through reducing food waste.
