Celebrate Dragon Boat Festival at Home with Yàn!
Looking to celebrate Dragon Boat Festival at home? Yàn is offering a trio of Cantonese-style rice dumplings, including a special vegan-friendly dumpling on offer from now to 30th June.
The labour of love is a special project for Head Chef Ng Sen Tio, who was inspired by his own memories of eating home –made rice dumplings due to not being able to eat anything else. The comfort of consuming each dumpling is in his fond recollections, and centred around elevated ingredients.
Chef Ng offers the following flavours available for the promotion:
- Abalone and Fish Maw Rice Dumpling ($28.80 nett): an exquisitely plump dumpling featuring 8-head abalone sourced from Australia, and sea cucumber and fish maw, gently stewed till tender in a special abalone broth for five hours.
- Shrimp and Scallop in XO Sauce Rice Dumpling ($18.80 nett): packed with whole Australian scallops, wild-caught prawns, and succulent braised pork belly that has been fried with garlic and dried shrimps, and finished with a generous heap of Yàn’s signature housemade XO sauce.
- Preserved Vegetables with Heura Chicken Rice Dumpling ($10.80 nett): a vegan-friendly option offering plant-based Heura chicken simmered with preserved mustard greens (mei cai) that is specially imported from Hong Kong.
For more fun, make your own with a Wrap-Your-Own-Dumpling Set at $78 nett. The selection offers double portions of the vegan dumpling for a lively hands-on activity, with each ingredient packed separately and fully cooked. In addition, the set presents 3 ready-to-eat pieces of the other two variants for nourishment after the merrymaking.
