Jigger & Pony Named Best Bar in Asia, Sponsored by Perrier in Asia’s 50 Best Bars List 2020
The Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2020 was revealed and Singapore bars took 11 spots in the list, with Jigger & Pony coming up on top. Other Singapore bars include Atlas (No.5), Native No.6), Manhattan (No.8), Tippling Club (No.17), The Old Man (No.22 and winner of the London Essence Best New Opening Award), D.Bespoke (No.23), Gibson (No.25), 28 HongKong Street (No.30), Nutmeg & Clove (No.32) and MO Bar (No.46).
The ceremony, which was originally due to take place in Singapore for the third consecutive year at Capitol Theatre, was replaced with a virtual countdown. The list was published despite the outbreak to instil optimism and positivity within the bar industry, and prepare for this recovery from this unprecedented situation.
At No 2, The Old Man in Hong Kong which also becomes The Best Bar in China sponsored by Matusalem. Coa from Hong Kong clinches the third spot, while Taiwan’s Indulge Experimental Bistro takes No. 4 and the Heering Legend of The List. No.5 is Atlas Singapore.
For the 2021 Asia’s 50 Best Bars ceremony, 50 Best also announced that it has confirmed its partnership with the Singapore Tourism Board to bring Asia’s 50 Best Bars back to Singapore next year. “These events will play a part in the industry’s recovery, and we are excited to welcome the world to experience Singapore’s vibrant nightlife offerings when the situation improves.” Says Jean Ng, Executive Director of Attractions, Entertainment & Tourism Concept Development at Singapore Tourism Board.
