Wine con-artist sentencing postponed A Californian wine dealer, Rudy Kurmiawan, 37, was found guilty in New York for manufacturing counterfeit vintage bottles for illegal profit.

He was arrested in 2012 and convicted in December. His sentencing has been postponed to 4th August 2014.

He has accused of manipulating his customers into thinking that wine made in his homely kitchen was rare. It was reported that he made at least $20m (£11.8m) in the sale of the fake merchandise.

A drawer full of fake wine labels and foil wrappers were found in his home. It is reported that he would mix cheaper wines to imitate the taste of more expensive wines.
