Held only a few days back, the World Wine Blind Tasting Challenge made its debut at Larrivet Haut-Brion castle in Leognan, southwestern France near Bordeaux where most French wine are found. The competition attracted 16 teams from around the world including South Africa, China, Russia, Argentina and Quebec. The team from Belgium took down the first winners for this challenge, with Denmark and England coming in second and third. Teams had to blind-taste 12 fine wines from around the world and had to identify the originating country, grape varieties used, appellations and vintages of the wines. The competition aimed to bring all amateurs and tasters who are trying to break free and make a mark to represent their countries.
