Food waste awareness

Australians chefs are working hand-in-hand with politicians and celebrities to serve up hot meals made up from extra wasted produce that would have ended up as landfill. This project is a step in raising awareness of global food loss and waste reduction.The public will get a chance to savour the delights served by Guillaume Brahimi, Neil Perry and many others who are taking part in this initiative. Statistics have shown that 1.3 billion tonnes of food is wasted each year, yet more than 870 million people are chronically under-nourished. This awareness aims to reduce food wastage in years to come. It is time that we embrace baby-steps in making this aim a reality. To read more, visit
