Top Wine Choice: Chardonnay

Chardonnay is definitely American’s top choice when it comes to wines but it has not been receiving the acknowledgement that it so well deserves. In Washington alone, 40,200 tons are harvested which produces 2.5 million cases of chardonnay. 2014 marks the 59th anniversary of Chardonnay being harvested in Washington with the pioneering grape vines to be found on the grounds of Snipes Mountain near the Yakima Valley. The significance of chardonnay caused a hike in the number of plantings in the 1980s and since 1993; it has been the no 1 or 2 wine grape in the DC state. To read more, visit
