Cocktail Paradise: Singapore

Since Sex and the City premiered, it has made cocktails achieve cult status. Cocktails were not limited as a ‘weekend’ drink, the new trend embraced having a glass or two at any given day and at any given time. Streams of ladies lined at cocktail bars are now a familiar sight once the clock strikes 6pm. Manhattan or New York in not the only place where cocktails have acclaimed popular status. There seem to be a cocktail renaissance happening in this small sunny island called Singapore. Cocktail bars are sprouting everywhere and nothing seems to be slowing it down. In 2013, UK-based liquor-producing giant Diageo reported a 58% spike in spirits sales in Singapore over the previous financial year. The scene has shifted towards the opening of solo bars with individuals with flair and skills concentrating on craft cocktails and introducing innovative techniques ingredients and spirits, while still keeping true to the classics. They have accumulatively invested time and energy in putting Singapore as the place to be in cocktail map." See more at:
