New Taiwan Pastry Star

Even though a Taiwanese, Chef Chen Li-che has represented the Asia-Pacific region to take part in this year’s Global Chef Challenge that took place at Stavanger, Norway. A competition held by the World Association of Chefs’ Societies (WACS), it was a battle between seven top chefs from US, Taiwan, Costa Rica, Czech Republic, Finland, Cyprus, and New Zealand. Chef Chen took down the competition as the champion in representing 85°C Bakery Cafe with his magnificent chocolate display titled, “3D Reflection of Deep Blue Ocean”. This is the first for the bakery chain and a first that a Taiwanese contestant has won the right to represent Asia in the finals.
