The more we fish the less we have, and by 2048, there will be none. Being one of the biggest seafood consumers in the Asia-Pacific region, consuming a whopping 140 million kilogrammes a year, Singaporeans should take note of the sustainability of the very food that we are consuming. 90% of our seafood are imported, and most of them comes from neighbouring countries such as Indonesia, Malaysia and Paupa New Guinea. What will happen when we have taken all the fishes before they could repopulate? Take a step forward and better understand the implications, and how we can help ease the situation on June 8 at the first Sustainable Seafood Festival.
