Food & Hotel Asia 2014 came to a close last Friday, with attendees closing deals and forging new partnerships in the largest trade event that fully occupied Singapore’s biggest exhibition venue. This year, there were a total of 3,213 exhibitors, attracting 64,826 attendees, with 43.1% of them coming from overseas. The event showcased an impressive spread which ranged from the finest and most unique food ingredients and products, food service equipment and technology, hotel amenities, hospitality technology to wines and liquors from a mix of old and new regions. During the course of the event, competitions were held to recognise the best in the industry, and to allow participants to learn from each other and grow with the experience. There were four competitions in total, the FHA Culinary Challenge, FHA Barista Challenge, FHA Latte Art Challenge, and Asian Pastry Cup.
The Hong Kong team took home the Lion’s Cup this year for the final battle in the FHA Culinary Challenge, while Malaysia took home the Gold for the Asian Pastry Cup. With the 19th edition of the Food & Hotel Asia at its close, we can look forward to breaking records once again in the next edition.
