Mirazur on Top of World’s 50 Best List; Odette No. 18 on List It has been a spectacular year for 42-year-old Chef Mauro Colagreco so far. Earlier this year, Chef Colagreco’s restaurant, Mirazaur was awarded three Michelin-stars – the highest accolade to be achieved in the Michelin guide.  Just last night, this French restaurant was named No. 1 in The World’s 50 Best Restaurant list, climbing two spots from its No.3 spot last year.

During his acceptance speech, Chef Colagreco thanked four countries; France, Italy, Brazil and Argentina for inspiring his culinary journey and providing him with countless opportunities. “Three Michelin stars and No. 1 all in the same year. It’s a year I would remember forever! I don’t have words to explain. I own the sky!” exclaimed Chef Colagreco. This award also is a milestone for the humble establishment as it is the first French restaurant to have clinched the top spot since the World’s 50 Best List launched 18 years ago. This is the first time that the prestigious World’s 50 Best Restaurants Awards was held in Asia, in specific, at the Sands Theatre in the coveted Marina Bay Sands, Singapore. With the spotlight on Singapore, it is notable that Odette also climbed 10 spots from no. 28 and was named no. 18 on the list last night. It remains as the only entry from Singapore to be among The World's 50 Best Restaurants.
