Transparency, traceability and, above all, sustainability are three key components to consider when it comes to food, and recent studies have suggested and predicted that by 2050, 70% more food will need to be grown globally compared to current agricultural output levels in order to keep up with population increases and the changing dietary preferences of consumers in developed economies.
However, with the industrialization that has affected and changed our climates and geography forever, experts are determining this as a reason why we should be extra concerned abut the future of our crops and grown food, even as we research on new ways to save us all.
Technology, however, is working on finding new ways to eradicate not just food wastage but also to adequately feed us. Farming is no longer the antiquated job we see it as, and now one of the solutions is to connect farmers straight to the consumers, not just for transparency in food production, but also to show just how we can work on getting food to the masses.
