The next IT invasion that restaurants diners in Singapore might face is automated payment. This will cut down the waiting time to receive the bill for the meal and cope with labour shortage. Tabsquare, an eMenu software provider, will spearhead this movement by introducing a dongle-based mobile payment system that is attached to an iPad and can read a diner’s credit card details. Nevertheless, there are still issues of higher cost and security breaches being possible that is making restaurant owners think twice before making the big leap.
