Machida Shoten, Singapore, located in the Japanese Food Town at the heart of Orchard Road is known for its its ‘iekei’ (meaning “home” in Japanese) ramen and serves it in three different flavours – the Shoyu Tonkotsu Ramen, the Miso Tonkotsu Ramen and the Garden Veggie Ramen. Machida Shoten, which originated from the Kanagawa Prefecture and owns 45 outlets in Japan, serves a highlight worthy is the Miso Tonkotsu Ramen that carries a miso-pork bone broth that is made extra rich and extra creamy with a small block of butter that will keep diners slurping up their ramen till its cleaned.
Aside from the ramen offerings, Machida Shoten has also added side dishes that are exclusive to the Singapore menu. Look out for the Homemade Shrimp Gyoza, Spicy Shrimp Fried Rice, Shrimp Bun and the Char Siu Croquettes that filled with seasoned minced pork and promises to burst into a delightful myriad of flavours when popped into the mouth.
