South Korea Opens Its First Casino Resort.... But Hits A Snag South Korea has opened its very first casino resort, 5 minutes away from Seoul's Incheon Internation Airport, but to expectedly lesser fanfare and lowered revenues.

Chinese gamblers are estimated to be half of South Korea's foreign gaming revenue as the campaign against the show of wealth by public officials in Macau has triggered an exodus of high rollers. Yet, the diplomatic unrest that has bugged South Korea has deterred these Chinese gamblers from heading to South Korea. Chinese travel agents are banned from selling tours to South Korea in a move of protest of a planned anti-North Korea missile defence outside Seoul.

Paradise, South Korea's largest casino operator, and Sega Sammy, Japanese slot machine maker, will now be targetting consumers in Japan and Southeast Asia and will also market Paradise City's hotels and non-gaming facilities to South Koreans.
