On March 9th the Embassy of Hungary in Singapore together with its official trading house in Singapore, CET Oriental, organized an exclusive Hungarian gastronomic tasting event. The purpose of the event was to introduce a wide selection of Hungarian premium quality F&B products to major Singaporean importers. Mr.
Péter Vitényi, the investment and trade counsellor of the Hungarian Embassy shares with us passionately, “Our aim is to reach out with our excellent products to the most influential Singaporean distributors, restaurants and hotels, and we hope that after this event you will consider adding Hungarian products to your product line.”
He continues, “This event will provide an excellent platform to build long term partnerships and hopefully will give a new impetus to the bilateral trade relations between Singapore and Hungary, which has been increasing dynamically over the past few years.”
Ending with, “We share one common goal: to make Singapore an even more attractive place to do F&B business. The F&B industry in Singapore is booming with many new restaurants, bars, groceries, butcheries, open almost every day. We would like those serving Hungarian products!”
Agriculture and food industry traditionally plays an important role within the economy. Hungary has an excellent geographical location in the Carpathian Basin with a notable size of agricultural areas which is 2/3 of the countries size. As one of the world’s foremost producers of paprika, foie gras, mangalica salami and sausage, Hungary is a major international exporter of many types of premium quality food and beverages. Hungarian gastro experience would not be complete without sampling Hungarian wines. Invitees had a great opportunity to experience a few skillfully selected wines from the two prestigious wine regions of Hungary, which are called TOKAJ and SZEKSZÁRD, the latter represented by the award winner VIDA Winery.
Mr.
György Kerekes, the trade promotion director of CET Oriental Solutions shares the amazing array of Hungarian products that are available, “Hungarian winter has arrived in Singapore! We have lots of game including deer and wild boar. We have a deer sausage that is specially made from deer meat and pork fat. We also have plenty of fresh water fish, cheese and dairy products. We have fresh & flavoured mozzarella, Pannónia, and because of the winter, people made smoked cheeses. With our vast agricultural abilities, more than 10 different types of honey can be found in certain parts of Hungary alone. We also do our own handmade chocolates that are very unique with marzipan.”
