The Beautiful Desserts from the World Pastry Cup The World Cup of Pastry 2017 (Coupe du Monde de la Pâtisserie) held in Lyon, France has recently ended, with its home team emerging victorious. The French Team, comprising of Etienne Leroy, Bastien Girard and Jean-Thomas Schneider beat Japan into second place, while Switzerland claimed third. France also won the Vase de Sèvres for most beautiful composition. Each of the 22 teams competing had to submit three different desserts – one frozen fruit, one chocolate and one plated – as well as 'artistic creations' in sugar, chocolate and ice.
