Singapore may be one of the richest countries in the world – however, there are still many families here who have insufficient to eat.

Food Bank Singapore is a new initiative by Food Xervices that aims to be the coordinating organization for all food donations in Singapore. Its mission is to acquire donated unopened and unexpired food as well as excess food in a centralised community food bank, distributing them through community agencies thereafter. Its member beneficiaries would then have more access to cheaper food sources, while excess food are used in creative and alternative ways such as converting it into plant fertilisers.
