Terra Creta is located in the Kolymvari region, the heart of quality olive oil production on the island of Crete in Greece. Cooperating with more than 1200 farmers, Terra Creta uses a vertical production method, from farming to extraction and bottling in their facilities. Their main goal is to produce superior quality Extra Virgin Olive Oil from the certified Protected Designation of Origin region of Kolymvari, Hania, Crete.
All of Terra Creta’s products and procedures are multi-certified by the HACCP, ISO 22000/2005, ISO 9001:2008, KOSHER and ECOCERT, USDA/NOP, and KRAV, as well as being assigned the EL-40-027 code by the EU for the production of Cretan Olive Oil.
From their inception in 2001, Terra Creta’s products have been recognized and awarded top prizes for their superb taste and aroma in more than eight International and Greek tasting competitions.
Terra Creta takes great pride in providing important production information to their consumers. In 2006, in keeping with their philosophy of providing total transparency and maximum information, Terra Creta launched an innovative on-line traceability system, called the Traceability Tree. By entering a product’s five-digit lot number on the Traceability Tree webpage (
http://www.terracreta.gr/track.aspx?lang=en&id=28#.WFdc96J96CQ) consumers can view detailed information about harvesting dates, quality, bottling and packaging stages. They may even view satellite photographs of the very olive groves where the olives for their specific bottle of olive oil were produced.
