Singapore is renowned for being a food haven and it’s no surprise that it is Kam’s Roast’s pick as being the city to set up its first outpost outside Hong Kong.
Located right in the heart of the bustling Orchard Road, Kam’s Roast, whose claim to fame is its winning of a Michelin Star for 3 consecutive years, will open its doors from 19 Nov 2016. Kam’s Roast, albeit being opened only in 2014, is owned by Hardy Kam whose grandfather, Kam Shui Fai, founded the famous Yung Kee in 1942 in Hong Kong.
With so much history running in the family of Kam’s Roast, diners can expect a part of Yung Kee to make its presence felt in the menu of Kam’s Roast and this is found in the Wonton Noodles. This legendary noodles was something that Hardy Kam’s father, Kinsen Kam, served while in Yung Kee and is a menu exclusive to Kam’s Roast in Singapore. It is made in Hong Kong and air flown into Singapore on a daily basis to guarantee freshness. In addition to the noodles being a must-order, diners should also order the brand’s signature roast meats such as the Roast Duck that is drenched in a Kam’s Roast special sauce, the thin and crispy Suckling Pig and the melt-in-the-mouth worthy ‘Toro’ Char Siew that is made using premium pork belly and the Kam family’s marinade.
Kam’s Roast offers an authentic taste of Hong Kong cuisine and undergoes strict supervision and adheres to standards set in Hong Kong as Hardy Kam’s philosophy is all about quality in the food served and consistency in taste despite being the Singapore branch. He hopes to keep the restaurant small and cozy in order to offer families and friends the opportunity to bond over quality fare.
