Mitch Lienhard, of Manresa restaurant in Los Gatos, California representing the USA, has been announced as the winner of S.Pellegrino Young Chef 2016, ending off three days of intense competition in the kitchen. Held in Milan – with a top international jury consisting of Gaggan Anand, Elena Arzak, Carlo Cracco, Wylie Dufresne, Roberta Sudbrack, David Higgs and Mauro Colagreco – Lienhard wowed them with his dish of roast duck with spiced oranges and yams as well as beating the likes of Shintaro Awa of France and David Andres Morera representing Spain and Portugal.
