Singapore: The overall champions of the Culinary Olympics

Singapore has been sending in the National Culinary Team to the IKA Culinary Olympics 6 times. They have won medals, but never before in both categories and certainly never as the overall champion. This time though, THAT POSITION IS THEIRS.
Team Manager, Chef Louis Tay of Swissotel Merchant Court, and his team members, Tristan Fang of RWS Ocean Restaurant, Alan Wong of Lavish Catering, Roy Lim of Unilever Food Service, Alex Chong of Regent Hotel and Teo Yeow Siang of Lavish Catering have brought victory to the shores of our little island and that is something that no one can overlook. The team and their mentors spent countless hours since March finding the correct balance for each dish and even more hours perfecting them.
Acknowledging the calibre of the other national teams from around the world, the Singapore team worked hard to make sure they put up a fight.
"Frankly speaking once the guys get back to work it all will go back to normal. But they have definitely gained incredible experiences from the competition that they will be able to put into use in their work place. The team plans to hold a detailed debriefing and write a report on the competition and the pros and cons of this wonderful journey that can be shared with future teams. We definitely made memories of a life time as a team as we are also the current Champion of the Luxembourg World Cup. This achievement has never been achieved by any team in the world before.
