Only a four hour ride from Manila, Japan was never a hot tourist spot for Filipinos with the high price of purchase and taxing visa process. A possible reason for the current rise in Filipinos making their visits to Japan could be the rising currency in making travelling to Japan more affordable, but it is also a way of giving thanks and returning favours and gratitude towards Japan’s graciousness and empathy during the Yolanda crisis. Food is definitely something to look out for in Japan with more Michelin starred restaurants than Paris and America, but what this author looks out for, is quality for a much cheaper price attached.
