"This is a wonderful region and an exciting industry to be working within. I'm looking forward to working with our members, gauging exactly where we can add the most value to their business,” says Wellington Regional Economic Development Agency chief executive Chris Whelan.
Wellington Wine Country Limited (WWCL) has recently been formed to represent the wine producers in the Greater Wellington region that has been known for their plantation of Pinot Noir in 1883.
The Wairarapa winemakers will also be directing their efforts into research and educating the wine region on viticulture. Their aim is to reach the same popularity as other premium New Zealand wines.
