Giving the spent grain a second life San Francisco company Regrained, turns used beer grains into granola bars. Regrained recognises that about 40 percent of food grown is never consumed and hopes to close the nutrient loop. With an increasing number of breweries in the US, the amount of resources depleted and by-products generated can cause problems to the environment. With all this potential waste, Regrained turns it all into snack bars for humans and pets, enabling a better use of spent grained.
