A decade into its inception, Brotzeit, a German brand that has made its home in Singapore, remains a popular name that resounds with both expatriates and locals as being the place to go for speciality German draft beers and bites.
Diners can now take delight in Brotzeit’s newly launched draft beers and its new menu created to commemorate its 10th anniversary. The four speciality beers, sourced from two German heritage breweries, are the Lowenbrau and the Franziskaner. Both are among the top three selling beer brands in Germany and are available for the first time locally with exclusivity to Brotzeit outlets islandwide. The Lowenbrau and the Franziskaner have a history that date back to the 1300s and have the recognition of being a top quality beer through its adherence to the Reinheitsgebot, a beer purity law awaiting an award from the UNESCO heritage certification. Says Julia Ohler, Marketing Director of Brotzeit, “We looked at breweries that offered history and quality and are synonymous with the German beer-drinking lifestyle.”
With great beers available on tap, food is a must to make the experience a vibrant whole. Diners can now find new German dishes being added to the menu with appetizers such as the Marinated Beef Cheeks and the Fladen as well as desserts such as the Beer-battered Apple Slices and Windbeutel with Ice Cream Filling. But of course, do not miss out on favourites like the Brotzeitplatte mit Ripperl platter that offers the best of Brotziet’s specialities with their in-house concocted sausages, spicy honey Bavarain ribs and large Roasted Pork Knuckle that has been marinated with beer and takes four days worth of preparation to achieve a crispy skin and tender meat. Last but not least, remember to also check out Brotzeit’s seasonal menu that is only available for a limited time!
