Chef André Chiang of Restaurant Andre Launches Octaphilosophy In celebration of Restaurant André's fifth anniversary, the World Gourmet Summit (WGS) Awards of Excellence Kitchenaid Chef of the Year, Chef André Chiang has released his first book, Octaphilosophy: The Eight Elements of Restaurant André. Octaphilosophy is a term derived from the chef, where he takes into consideration the eight elements of salt, texture, memory, purity, terroir, south, artisan and uniqueness, before creating a dish for guests. At 650 pages thick, the book documents 365 days in his award-winning restaurant in Singapore. A quick browse and it entices the eye with beautiful imagery, makes you want to give it a go at one of his recipes, and touches your heart with a hearfelt foward written by his mother.
