Diageo Announces Top 10 Singapore Semi-Finalists For World Class 2016 Diageo, the world’s leading premium drinks company, has revealed the top 10 bartenders who will be moving on to the fourth and final round of the World Class 2016 Singapore competition taking place on 9 May. World Class is the industry’s most prestigious and respected mixology competition.

The top 10 semi-finalists will now go on to battle it out in a series of innovative mixology challenges created to test their talent, nerve and creativity, judged by the movers and shakers of the industry. In the first time-travelling themed challenge, “Retro, Disco, Future”, bartenders will be required to infuse the spirit of three distinct eras into three one-of-a-kind cocktails – the old school glamour iconic to the 19th century leading up to the Prohibition period; the dance-floor kitsch of the 70s and 80s; and the cutting-edge trends of the future. The second challenge, ‘Against the Clock’, is a high pressure speed round where competitors are tested on their poise, accuracy and craftsmanship to create a minimum of five cocktails in just 10 minutes.

The chosen Final Four will then head to Bali in late May to compete for the title of “Southeast Asia Bartender of the Year”, advancing him or her to the Global Finals in Miami this September.
