Sugar, Salt and Fat: The New Health Food Trend? In the most recent study on healthy diet, it was suggested that not all fats contributes to weight gain and heart problems. This has kick-started a new health trend that not all fats are bad. A look at the effects of this trend has got Edy’s slow-churned ice cream, introduced in 2004 as low fat and low calories dropping in sales. Thus, to keep up with this new trend they have opted to make it with lesser ingredients and to make a switch from high-fructose corn syrup to cane sugar.
