Growing The Greens

It’s panic time when you need that few dashes of herbs but you have run out of them, with the nearest market closed for the day. Perhaps an easy solution for Singaporeans where there are supermarkets open for 24 hours a day and even on public holidays, but what about countries where the nearest grocer would require driving time of maybe 30mins? A group of foodies in Melbourne have sought solutions to resolve this. Without having to travel to the nearest grocer, you can now gather herbs by picking them for free. HerbShare plans to create an online map of herbs available to pick across the city and access to that is only granted if users agree to grow and share their own herbs as well. Indeed, barter trading well practised.
