Sommeliers From All Over Italy Gather For Sangiovese

On February 21 in Faenza, sommeliers from all over Italy will compete for the title of Ambassador of Sangiovese. On the same date, the 15th Trophy for the Consortium for the Wines of Romagna – Master of Sangiovese 2016 will also be held.

The final competition of the Master of Sangiovese, which starts at 5pm is open to the public. The public is guaranteed to see quite a show watching three sommelier finalists prove themselves in a series of difficult activities: tasting three awarded Sangiovese wines; pairing a Sangiovese wine with a menu; correcting a Sangiovese wine menu; reception; communicating a chosen subzone of Romagna Sangiovese (English optional); and service and decanting of wine.
