In Hahn Estate winery located at California’s Santa Lucia Highlands, drones are used to make better wines. The drone is a five-pound model airplane that does more than taking photos. It is fitted with state-of-art sensors that collect useful data for Hahn to monitor the vineyard’s condition. In November, Hahn offered his vineyard for a test where he partnered with PrecisionHawk and Verizon who work with farmers to develop technology that can yield better harvest more efficiently.
