In Hahn Estate winery located at California’s Santa Lucia Highlands, drones are used to make better wines. The drone is a five-pound model airplane that does more than taking photos. It is fitted with state-of-art sensors that collect useful data for Hahn to monitor the vineyard’s condition. In November, Hahn offered his vineyard for a test where he partnered with PrecisionHawk and Verizon who work with farmers to develop technology that can yield better harvest more efficiently. Andy Mitchell, Hahn’s director of viticulture, attests to its effectiveness by wanting to apply this technology across all his acres. Learn more here:
