There is certainly no such thing as a free lunch. Across the world, restaurants are charging customers for bringing in outside cakes. This is called cakeage fee which is similar to corkage. Neal McCarthy, owner of Miller Union in Atlanta has an Instagram account full of cake images that customers have brought over. In London, the issue of cakeage was spiced up as according to a newspaper report, a person is charged about $14 in fees at a restaurant.
