In a patriarchal society like India, the sight of female chefs in the hotel industry roughing it out is still a rare sight. Mrinalinee SV Swarup, who is a junior sous chef at Upper Deck, Vivanta by Taj-Fisherman's Cove said that the job doesn’t entice because of its long hours and the difficulty of balancing work and personal life. While she doesn’t face workplace discrimination, she said that there is a need for women to prove that they’re on par with men. Learn more here:
