From Pages to Pouring: Noble Rot Magazine Team Launch Bloomsbury Wine Bar February 2013 saw the launch of Noble Rot, a quarterly magazine founded by Dan Keeling and his business partner, Mark Andrew, with a specialised focus on wine. Now attracting subscriptions from around the world – “very obscure places in Australia and America” – Keeling and Andrew were keen to maximise on the magazine’s popularity and started nurturing the idea of a wine bar.

The establishment is a restaurant ‘and’ wine bar, situated in the bustling Midtown neighbourhood of Lamb’s Conduit Street, in a building that dates back to the 1700s. “It’s been a wine bar since 1973, and the guy that launched it was a descendant of Lord Nelson. What we really love about it is the sense of community [in] Bloomsbury…  Everyone seems to talk to everyone and knows each other’s names – there’s a kind of residential community round there,” says Keeling.
