Caffé B Presents Their Festive Christmas Lunch Menu When I arrived late this morning, Monday, 26 October 2015, I was greeted by the Assistant Restaurant Manage, Mr Christian Gschloessl, who presented me with the Restaurant’s Christmas Menu, priced at S$100++. It’s a 5-course meal, consisting of an antipasto of Sicilian Salmon Carpaccio, Homemade Porcini Ravioli, Cod wrapped with Prosciutto and Saffron, Festive Roasted Turkey and a Rainbow Log Cake. Chip in an additional S$50++ for the wine pairing selection of four wines. The Bar’s Christmas Menu is priced at S$70++, with an antipasto, Escargot a la Romagna, with a choice of main course of either the Italian Frito Misto or the Roasted Ribeye, and a dessert – the Black Forest Surprise.

Caffé B is positioned as a nouveau Italian restaurant and bar concept that marries the best Italian tradition with Asian influence. The Managing Director is Ms Tae Tsuchida, who was seconded by the parent ThreeBond Group URC Pte Ltd in 2009 to start up Caffé B, at the Shoppes Marina Bay Sands’ Galleria Level, # B1-15, where the Restaurant is located, and the Bar is sited at Level 1, #1-15. The Executive Chef of Caffé B is Mr Pierpaolo Fadda.

The overall ratings for both menus are that the fare is pretty average. The above average dishes are The Cod with wrapped prosciutto, that showed the balance with the prosciutto, not too crispy, and yet its moistness countered the cod, which was surprisingly firm. Overall the dish was tasty. The best dish of the tasting was The Bar Menu’s antipasto, which was more French than Italian; yet very well oven baked – soft with lots of butter in the plate. The Black Forest Surprise had plenty of goodies, chocolate, sour cherries balanced with rich creams. For more details, head to http://goo.gl/Ucc0vu
