A restaurant in Fuzhou, China called “5 Loaves and 2 Fish” after the Biblical Miracle of Jesus feeding the 5000 has reported losses of $41,000 since its opening 3 months ago. Customers at the restaurant may pay whatever they please or not at all if they so wish. The restaurant serves a variety of dishes including Fujianese specialties 24 hours a day to a full house. This “grace” afforded to people has seemingly been taken advantage of as some people refuse to pay for their meals despite having the means to do so. Owner Liu Pengfei now plans to ask customers who do not pay why they do not do so. “They can tell me they don’t have enough money, that’s fine. But paying nothing and saying nothing is something totally different.”
