Chef Jacques Pépin Wins First Julia Child Foundation Culinary Prize French-born, Emmy-award winning Chef Jacques Pépin was named as the first recipient of the Julia Child Foundation award for the influence he has had on the way America cooks, eats and drinks. The foundation, named after the American chef, author and television personality who was a friend and cooking partner of Chef Pépin, cited his mastery in the kitchen and long career teaching and writing about the culinary world.
