Artichoke Chef Bjorn Shen to open new “unapologetically retro” restaurant Bjorn Shen, chef-owner of popular Middle Eastern eatery Artichoke, will be opening a new concept in Ann Siang Road in November. The concept behind the new restaurant, Bird Bird House of Thai Chicken, will be, as Shen puts it, “a sloppy, Thai chicken-centric eatery”. He adds that the restaurant will be unapologetically and unstylishly retro, “think toilet paper on the table, intentional spelling mistakes on the menu, and mismatched chopsticks.” Fans of Chef Shen’s Bird Bird pop-ups will also be pleased to note that familiar items, such as the fried chicken skin sundae and Thai milk tea slushies will be finding a permanent home at the restaurant.
