Chef Heman Tan's New Book Launch! Chef Heman Tan is a determinator of the greatest kind, who doesn't seem to rest as much as you would expect a man of him to do so. In fact, the chef took the opportunity during the pandemic to experiment and work with a new culinary technique he hadn't had a chance to do before: sous vide.  In fact, this work in experimentation has led him to work on his newest book, Cooking Under Soft Pressure, released in English and Chinese, which was released at Xi Yan, located in Maxwell Chamber Suites.



The media launch and lunch, which saw media members, companies and influencers attending the sit down lunch, saw 4 tables full of people clamouring to hear more of what Chef Tan has to offer in his newest recipe book, which included favourites that was served at previous restaurant Moonbow.  The book, which combines his culinary knowledge from the kitchen with sous vide techniques,  sees him using Asian and western ingredients in healthy and fresh ways that are sure to tantalise fans of his. 



With each recipe designed for the home chef in mind and step by step instructions from preparation to assembly, the recipe is meant to replicate at least 90% of the time ( He explains this as an understanding that not everyone should be able to replicate a recipe exactly 100% of the time), and includes examples and signatures that Chef Tan is famous for.
