Royal Salute Releases 26 YO Aged Scotch Whiskey
Inspired by its homeland and fully finished in virgin Scottish oak casks, Royal Salute, the master of exceptionally aged Scotch whisky, is unveiling its latest limited-edition expression as part of its Kingdom Collection; the Royal Salute 26 Year Old Scottish Oak Cask Finish. It's a delightful new blend that perfectly captures the enchantment of the United Kingdom and is the first in Royal Salute’s art of blending.
This new blend is expertly crafted by Royal Salute Master Blender Sandy Hyslop, who sourced and hand-selected the oak from a single, sustainably-managed forest in the heart of Scotland. This rich new blend artistically marries Royal Salute’s signature style with a unique cask finish. The whisky is then matured for a remarkable 26 years. The resulting flavours offers a melody of sweet and nutty flavours, enriched with aromatic notes of toasted oak and subtle spices, leading to a long and rich finish.
“For this unique expression, I wanted to really encapsulate and balance the robust and distinctive flavours of wild Scottish oak casks into a blend that carries all the quality hallmarks expected of Royal Salute," Royal Salute Master Blender Sandy Hyslop explains. "Working with such precious casks was an extremely meticulous yet exciting task and adding this rare finish to the new blend has not only allowed us to release a whisky that offers a whole new dimension for Royal Salute lovers to discover, it also perfectly depicts the captivating and wonderous characteristics of Scotland.”
This limited-edition whisky is housed in a vibrant earthy green flagon with a stunning design inspired by the natural colours of the verdant forests where Scottish oak is found. The inspiration continues on the gift box, depicting intricate illustrations synonymous with Scotland, such as striking landscapes and the iconic Strathisla Distillery, in the heart of Speyside, where all the most precious Royal Salute blends are safely kept.
