iKO Reloaded!

iKO Reloaded! iKO is reborn. It opens its door in 2022 with a completely new kitchen crew, including a Chef consultant, gastro master Dylan Ong, who is also the chef-owner of the Franco-Asian restaurant The Masses.

The owner of iKO, Lamber Chen shared that, “Due to the Covid19 measures in 2021, it has been tough for the team. It took them a lot of dedication and hard work to prepare for the relaunch and they are hopeful for the future”.

So what can you expect from the revamped menu at the Neil Road establishment? Modern Japanese meals are offered, in a unique setting. Neon lights, a 9-meter mural of ocean waves, and funky music in the backdrop are all part of the experience.

The menu is divided into seven categories: Snack, Raw, Starters, Rice Bowls, Sumbiyaki, Dessert and Beverage. Start your meal with the Tempura Soft Shell Crab; soft shell crab deep fried till golden crisp served with mozzarella, avocado purée, soy cured egg yolk.

This was followed by our personal favourite: Smoked Tuna ($26) with bucatini pasta and firefly squid, and sprinkled with bottarga shavings.

Another crowd favourite was the iKO Roll! This roll consists of foie gras, maitake mushrooms, fig, and shavings of truffle; while the iKO rice was seaweed rice with the usual medley of raw seafood - otoro, maguro, salmon, ikura, tobiko, and snow crab uni.

If you’re looking for an experience that serves modern Japanese cuisine with an avant garde flair, then iKO it is!
