Roberto’s Pizza: Brooklyn to Singapore!
Have you ever wondered where renowned celebrities like Beyonce, Jay-Z, Bill and Hilary Clinton dine at? Well, their common ground is at Roberta’s Pizza and now they’re opening their first international outlet in Singapore, Marina Bay Sands on 26 February 2022, Saturday.
Famed for its wood-fired Neapolitan-style pizzas characterized by a thin crust base and puffy, chewy cornicione, the pizzeria was established in 2007 in a warehouse in Brooklyn.
“The Singapore outpost, which was 18 months in the making, will be run by a local team that has spent time training with Roberta’s in Los Angeles and its flagship in Bushwick. “When we looked at expanding into Asia, Singapore was the perfect place for our first outpost. The city has a truly vibrant F&B scene, and we believe we are able to build a Roberta’s community in Singapore,” says Brandon Hoy, co-founder and co-owner of Roberta’s Pizza.
Roberta’s offers 10 pizzas in an inventive menu that spans classics like the Bee Sting ($28), the best selling pizza in Roberta’s Los Angeles, is a piquant pie with tomato, mozzarella, Calabrese salami and basil, finished with housemade chilli oil and honey.
The Stracciatella with House Bread ($15) is another must-try with housemade stracciatella — a soft, fresh cheese best known as the delicious centre of burrata.
Our personal favourite is the Baby Sinclair
($29). Named after one of the main characters in the early-1990s Disney television series, Dinosaurs
, this pizza features dinosaur kale complemented with mushrooms, Calabrese peppers and garlic.
What better way to enjoy pizza than with an ice-cold brew? We personally enjoyed the Small Batch First Impressions Lemongrass Lager ($14, 4.8% ABV). Brewed in Singapore, the lager features hints of lemongrass and is a refreshing beverage to complement pizza.
