Journey To the East at PLQ!
PLQ’s latest culinary playground is an ode to the East, as three new-to-market culinary concepts arrive at Paya Lebar to add to its glistering roster of urban outdoor dining experiences. The collection of F&B offerings is looking to become a culinary mecca for foodies in the central East looking to dine in a garden within a park-precinct.
Seamlessly integrated with the wider Park Connector Network (PCN), PLQ Parkside is the newly established destination for foodies, outdoor sports enthusiasts and residents to dine, wine and delight. It houses an intimate hideaway of eight signature dining concepts to date, set within relaxing surrounds and fringed by nature.
The opening of two contemporary and new-to-market, mission-driven culinary concepts, Rempapa and Zing by Xi Yan, will strengthen PLQ Parkside’s status as a culinary playground with nature-front views to nourish mind, body and palate. Singapore’s oldest Hainanese coffeeshop, Killiney Bistro & Bar will also debut an exclusive concept serving up innovative renditions of traditional favourites and a dedicated alcohol and spirits menu.
A highlight that one should look out for when venturing at PLQ is Rempapa, Chef Damian D’Silva‘s new all-day restaurant that's dedicated to Singapore heritage food, serving the flavours of the Chinese, Peranakan, Eurasian, Indian and Malay kitchens. The name Rempapa, a pun on rempah (spice paste) and “papa”, is touted to be the new treasure trove of multi-cultural heritage recipes, and it's his new venture that seeks to engage the next generation of diners and mentoring fresh talent, seeing them take pride in the cuisine. Another standout? Asian-fusion cuisine Zing by Xi Yan, which focuses on plant-based dining and positive social impact. It's owned by Xiyan and social enterprise, The Social Kitchen, and celebrity chef Jacky Yu (of Xi Yan) dishes up healthy and wholesome comforts for everyday dining and well-being through the use of sustainable produce that includes ingredients from Vegetarian Butcher, a Unilever partner brand. Like its rich interior walls of birds, flora, and fauna, Zing by Xi Yan’s mission is to bring sustainability to disadvantaged individuals and families by equipping them with skills and job opportunities.
