Teochew Festival Happening in Virtual Format, Available Online Teochew Festival 2021 returns from 5th to 14th November 2021 in an all new format, in an effort to work with the guidelines as set by the Ministry of Health and Singapore Tourism Board, as well as to let friends from Singapore and overseas to attend the virtual Festival in the comfort of their home.

Featuring the various pillars of Teochew culture through its virtual performing arts, cuisine, beauty pageant, history and handicraft zones, the virtual festival also features a virtual food street where attendees are able to purchase the different types of Teochew inspired goodies and specialties from participating merchants.

One of the highlights includes renowned Teochew Cuisine Heritage Champion Chef Eric Low who is curating a series of online Cuisine Webinars and Culinary Masterclasses for the festival, featuring three cuisine webinars which will focus on Masterstock or Lu Shui (the art of soy braising) ; Salted and Pickled; and the all-time favourite snack – traditional Teochew Kueh and its evolution. The Culinary Masterclasses will feature forgotten recipes as well as popular traditional Teochew dishes like Salt and Sweet Glutinous Rice, Teochew Steam Fish and making traditional Muar Chee with modern home appliances.

Another highlight to look out for? The Virtual Food Street.  Attendees are spoilt for choice as 25 food merchants would be available for them to order various food products and ready to eat dishes through the festival portal. The organising committee has also reached out to local Teochew hawkers and famous Teochew Restaurants to bring a wide variety of Teochew dishes to you.
