The World Gourmet Summit Press Conference Discussing S.O.U.L: Solidarity, Originality, Unwavering, Local

The World Gourmet Summit Press Conference Discussing S.O.U.L: Solidarity, Originality, Unwavering, Local The World Gourmet Summit Press Conference was streamed live at 4pm today, and touched on the state of the Food and Beverage industry today.

"I don’t have to tell you anything new," said Mr Peter Knipp, director of Peter Knipp Holdings and the co-founder of the World Gourmet Summit. He was saying this in his address during the press conference streamed live from the World Gourmet Summit Facebook page. " 2020 will be the year that has seen the world change. It will see the way Food and Beverage changes and the way it operates. The journey ahead will be so fraught with obstacles that only the most nimble, passionate, and determined would survive."

He added that while this was not the first time the industry itself has faced such troubles, this is the first time where the challenges has had such ramifications that it has affected businesses, trade and the way we build relationships and reach out to each other. He called upon the Food & Beverage Industry to come together and establish a common direction that would help to create positive impact for the industry for years to come.

With that in mind, the original theme of S.O.U.L. (Sustainable, Organic, Urban, Lifestyle) had to be redefined to befit the theme in the pandemic of Covid19. Mr Knipp took time to announce this during the speech, redefining the acronym to stand for Solidarity, Originality, Unwavering, and Local.

He also took time to announce WGS that will be proceeding with activities that will continue with theme, including a series of forums on discussions, with the first one starting off, themed The Road to Recovery, held on the 2nd of September, as well as the 20th *World Gourmet Awards Trophy Presentation, to be held on 7th September.

He ended the speech thanking viewers for watching and wished them positivity and safety, while commenting on how the World Gourmet Summit would soon celebrate 25 years next year.

"I would have never believed it if somebody would have told me that in 1996, but here we are," Mr Knipp said. "So to all our industry players, experts, participants, thank you for the confidence you have in us. Thank you for the support and we wish you well and we hope you come through all this even stronger, even more positive and more creative."
